Cuomo's Economic Plan (Teresa Kurtz)

Before the democratic candidate Andrew Cuomo became governor, the economy of New York was unarguably shaky and unnerving especially to the poor and middle class. "New York State was suffering from devastating job losses and the flight of businesses. The state government, once a national model, was a national disgrace."(andrewcuomo.com). While Cuomo was governor, he created strategies to make jobs for unemployed New Yorkers. At this point, the unemployment is down to 6.7%. An important and successful strategy is increasing tourism. With tourism, people come to New York, spend their money that goes into our economy. Also tourism promotes jobs for New Yorkers such as tour guides and hotel workers. Cuomo can create unique plans to better New York State's economy.

  1. I agree with you that Cuomo's experience as governor and proven record of how he improved the economy, is enough for him to be governor again. The evidence that he fixed the economy from the very poor state it was in, is enough evidence for my vote.-Ysabelle
